Guilty plea: Bulletin: Nika Larsen: Oregon; Forensic Magazine reports that the former lab analyst has pleaded guilty today to 2 counts of stealing controlled substances, in connection with the theft of some 700 pills from 50 separate evidence items....She had been accused of stealing prescription pills including Morphine and Methadone from state-run crime labs in, at least, two counties, according to federal court documents filed in July..."Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel is still reviewing evidence, and vows to review every case that has come “within a mile” of Nika Larsen. “I’m looking at any case in the lab,” Hummel told local news outlet KTVZ, “because if she was tampering with evidence in cases that were assigned to her, it’s possible that she tampered with cases assigned to other analysts.” Eighty cases have already been dismissed in two counties, according to local media reports.
